| Customer Reviews: Nice February 6, 2010 B. Crumpler My only complaint with the warming mattress pad is that, although I ordered twin extra long, the pad is too short. It heats very nicely and makes a warm cozy bed to get into. I have certainly enjoyed it on these cold winter nights.
Wish I had this 20 years ago January 31, 2010 Osage (Oklahoma USA) I received this for Christmas and I love it. I turn it on before I get in bed and it's nice and toasty without making you sweaty. I love the dual controls so I can adjust my side to my preference. I have had many electric blankets that don't last more than one winter and they all feel heavy. It's much nicer having the heat underneath you, and you don't the extra weight of an electric blanket. The pad is well constructed and heats quickly, and the heat is uniform. This is a great product.
nothing better than crawling into a warm bed January 25, 2010 J. Simpson (portland oregon usa) I am always cold! ALWAYS! this heated mattress pad is more than I could ask for. Setting #2 is just right for me, #4 is a little too warm for all night. Since I received my purchase I no longer use the wall heater in my bed room and my electric bill has gone down $20. I preheat on HI for 20-30 minutes and climb into a nice n' toasty bed, and then turn one side of my bed down to 2, and the other side to 4 that way I can move closer to or away from the heat throughout the night without having to wait for the bed to warm up or cool down.
The controllers are absolutely silent, they do get warm to the touch but the manual promises that it is normal and safe. The heat setting display is red in color and pretty dim but I keep them under pillows. The heat is even. The heat cords are not noticeable unless you are looking for them.
I have not washed it in the machine yet, but the manual says you can.
Its pretty thin too so if you have a pillow top and are worried about it affecting the level of squish...Don't worry. Also it is pretty forgiving size wise, and should fit even the deepest of mattresses.
if I had to pick one thing, the only thing that I don't like about it is that both controllers have to be plugged into separate outlets so you will need a power strip. I plug mine into the power strip with my phone charger and bedside lamp and turn off the whole strip when I leave for the day to cut out phantom power usage.
Very good bed warmer January 24, 2010 Tim Ruzin (Grand Junction, CO) The other reviewers were right, this is the best warming mattress pad. Throw it on, plug it in, and be ready to keep dialing it down because it really does the job. We keep our bedroom at 60 degrees and if I keep the controller above 2 (out of 10) it's too warm. No cold spots, no lumps, no wires we can feel. Ours is a King, we bought a Queen for my folks (85 & 91 years old) and they both love it - no more cold legs or cold feet as they had with their electric blanket. I have concerns about traditional electric blankets and heating pads, 60 Hz RF over long periods of time just might have biological effects, but with this 24 volt DC system it's not an issue. We're both glad we got it.
Warms the Winter Nights January 17, 2010 F. Pearson (Edina, MN United States) I got this as a Christmas present for my wife and we both love it. We're probably going to give it as gift to others. My brother wants one to replace the electric blanket in his cabin in northern Minnesota. It works just like I hoped it would.
For years we has a water bed. About 5 years ago we switched to a sleep number bed. We really like the new bed but the one thing we missed was the heater in the waterbed. This is the missing component for the perfect night's sleep. We like to keep the bedroom on the cool side for better sleeping but the bed is cold when you first get in. With this heater just hit the button before you get ready for bed and by the time you get your PJs on and brush your teeth the bed is warm and cozy. The pre-warm setting is great, just a little bump to get things started. I keep the setting on 1 which is all I need for the night but it can really heat up if that's what you want.
