| Customer Reviews: comfortable October 5, 2009 Kitt I really like this comforter, it keeps in the warmth which is what i was looking for. It is flat when you first get it but after you use it it fluffs itself up. this item is very comfortable and I'm happy with my choice in this particular one. The down fall in this product is the feathers, in some parts of the comforter there are more feathers and others where there are hardly any. That was more noticeable when I first started using the comforter but it seemed to have evened itself out. The comforter does loose feathers with continuous use but not as much as other comforters like this usually do.
it's all good except the person rec'd this didn't know who sent this nice gift! September 9, 2009 Duanling Ni (the Shire) This item was sent as a wedding gift to our neighbor's daughter, selected from Amazon registry. They received it in a timely manner; however, they didn't know who sent it!
It turned out that they needed to asked us, in a kind of embarrassing way: "did you guys send this nice gift to our daughter?"
If Amazon does not improve the registry service to at least attach a note acknowledging the sender's name in the package, we would have reservation to use this service again - especially the receiver lives far away.
Nice comforter but not 100% White Goose Down... June 25, 2009 SusanM (Cambridge MA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I did a lot of looking online before I purchased 2 of these comforters for my children. We'd had a BIG, messy problem with their old Woolrich comforters leaking down EVERYWHERE in their room so I wanted to make sure I was getting a quality product. I wanted a high thread count to prevent leakage, 600+ fill power so they would be very warm, and I wanted 100% down because it's much lighter and warmer. I was pleased with everything about the comforters except that the comforter tags say "Minimum 75% down". I thought I was purchasing 100% down!! Amazon should clearly state that it's not 100% down in the product description. I choose to keep them because I think they are high quality and a good value for the money. A tip for reviewers who complained the comforter was thin and smelly: I ran each comforter through the dryer on low (fluff) with a couple old tennis balls and a sheet of Bounce for 15 minutes and they came out double in size and sweet smelling. The down gets compacted during shipping and just needs a good fluffing.
Nice and cozy. May 18, 2009 Emma R. Hillard (Chelmsford, MA, United States) This comforter is great for all seasons in New England. It's nice and warm, but is also light in weight, so you don't feel like you're being smothered on warmer evenings.
Not what I was looking for February 22, 2009 F. Congdon We had excellent service ordering and receiving this item. After receiving it, we were disappointed in how thin it was. It appeared to be extremely well made and warm. It appeared to be an excellent product for the price, if this is the product you are looking for. But it was so thin, we didnt see much difference between this and the typical comforter. We were looking for that effect you get from a fluffy down comforter. We returned this item and will continue looking. I wonder if there is trade offs between warmth and thread count on the one hand, and fluffyness on the other.
